Haven't heard of Cosori, but I haven't looked for a dehydrator in quite a while. I bought an Excalibur 9-tray about 10 years ago. Does the job, but they are pricey. Like you said, there's a lot of nice features on the Cosori. The electronics, the door, the tray clearance, etc. Looks like a sexy, kick-ass machine. The tray frames look to be metal?

The trays are stainless steel, and I put silicon
mesh sheets on them so I can dry the small
berries.

The whole unit is stainless steel except for
the plastic trim, one of the reasons I chose
this one.
Congrat's on the new dehydrator, Paul. That's a sharp looking machine. I'm still on my old Nesco ring unit that's probably 15 years old.

Glad I don't have to park it in the driveway next to yours ;)

My NESCOS just didn't last. The thermostats always
give out and the unit overheats, once so bad it warped
some of the trays. A better thermostat would make them
great machines. I liked them in just about every other way.

Congrats to you for yours lasting so long!

I have the square nesco FD-80A. I've gone through about 5 thermal cutoff fuses (SF139E). Strange thing is that the temp seems about what is shown on the dial when I measure with another thermometer. Not sure what is going on...... Very nice unit @PaulG !

Not familiar with that model. I just had the cheap
round ones I bought at Kroger. Your is at least user
serviceable!

Dried berries maintain their color at 100˚F.
These images show much darker in the
lighting on the table in the garage.

These chinenses air-dried on my workbench.
Going into the dehydrator to finish off.

Really nice machine Paul, now I know what to wish for at Christmas. How long do you think you’ll keep harvesting for this season?

Very satisfied at these initial stages, Rasmus.
I hope it lasts at least 5-10 years  ;)
I hope Papa Noël is good to you at Christmas
time 🎅

I will get a few more bonnets, and some Aji Amarillo.
Just hoping that the chinenses will gift me a few more
pods! Wild berries will dribble in until winter sets in.
Close to moving them under the deck canopy.

I am glad to see your greenhouse was a great success,
and even still getting after those last green Chili de Arbol
pods!

One last decent harvest last week. There are still
a few more pods to be had, but we are nearing
the end, for sure.
