Pepper flavor question

What are the best peppers from

Africa
South America
Caribbean
America

Not necessarily the hottest, but the best tasting, best known?

Thanks!

Oh ok. The verbage didn't seem to specify that.

We get a lot of newer/newish people who ask questions that are more objective and I don't know if you were opening up a dialogue or asking a point blank question.

My bad :)

So you don’t have an opinion?

I feel like members always rave about Aji's of South America.  Like Aji Pineapple, lemon drops, aji amarillo.  I haven't tried any but they're all on my grow list for next season.  There's a local brewery that makes a hot Aji Beer Cheese that is amazing.
The first African pepper i thought of was the Malawi Piquante which I absolutely love.  I usually stuff with some cream cheese mixture and eat as an appetizer.
Caribbean - the first pepper i think of is scotch bonnet.   I enjoy this dried in my rubs or in a piklese recipe i found on this site.

Not sure if they're the most known peppers, but they were the first i thought of when you gave the regions.

Thanks, this what I wanted, what others liked. I tried to give as much “guidance” as I could, I didn’t want >just< the hottest pepper comments.

No American pepper?

The first American Peppers i thought of were Fresno and Chiltepin.  I think those both originated in America?  Fresnos I use in fajita mix every once in awhile.

America as a county? Or North America, which includes all the great Mexican peppers?

Question is a little awkward to be honest. What are you looking for?

America as a country

@Podhopper answered it perfectly, it’s not a deep question and no ulterior motive.

LOL I didn't think you had an ulterior motive but your list is a mix of continents, regions, and a country that's what was awkward. I see now you want America as a county. Definitely Anaheim! lol. Also Datil, St. Augustine FL. Of course one could also debate that any of these peppers originated somewhere else.

I didn’t care about Mexico or Canada and didn’t want to list every Caribbean or African country.

Pubescens and jalapenos.

I know you might not have meant this as a loaded question but in reality..it is.

Favorite is subjective. It's personal. But...just because a pepper is " from" somewhere doesn't mean it really is from there. Datil. From "St Augustine" but most likely African in origin.

And one species tastes one way, another another way.

So, it really is a loaded question other wise it just turns into another " What's your favorite pepper?" question.

I didn’t ask for origins so that is moot and I think there is enough criteria for commentators to choose how they want to answer for the regions I asked about... or the ones they know.

Thanks for answering the pubs and japs question ....I figured japs after I sent send.
