Peppers ripening while still too small

I have a few bells and poblanos that are all ripening while still really small. A few bells on one of my plants were only about 2" wide when they started to turn color, and the poblanos were only about 3" long before they began to turn red.

Anyone know what might cause this? They're in deep raised beds so the roots have plenty of space, and the plants look healthy.

I typically see that on my plants when the weather begins turning warm or a big swing in temps for a week or so. I also see it on the first few fruits of the year.

The plants are around 2ft tall, but it was the first few pods though. Maybe the next ones will be larger. I just don't remember that happening last year though. I live in las vegas so the weather has been in the high 90s and low 100s.
