Ph testing gone wild

Hey all,

Stuck a test strip into a new sauce I cooked up... and well... i think my sauce stained the pad. Anyone else ever have this problem ? Anyone have a solution to it ? Anyway to test ph with out buying an expensive meter ?

meters dont have to be expensive. You can get an entry lever meter on ebay for about $12.00. Just make sure you get one that compensates for the sauce still being hot from the pot.

When I still used strips I laid them on top. The side contacting the sauce will be coated but the color change will be seen on the untouched top too.
