plant destroyer

I have noticed lately that some kind of (im assuming) bug has been eating on my plants leaves. Is there something I can put on the leaves that will keep most or any kind of bug eating them despite what kind of bug it is? Here is some samples of what I am seeing.

I found something similar, but not as big of holes on a couple of my plants a week ago. I was going to take a pic, but the old lady left the camera at a friends house. I haven't noticed any new damaged leaves and haven't tried anything yet. It's odd because some of the holes on mine where right in the middle of a leaf.

One of my habanero plants was mauled like that, but every leaf had it. It was kind of crowded by a few plants including a large tomato plant. As soon as I pruned the tomato branches and let more space/airflow and sun in, the problem slowly subsided. I have no idea if that caused critters to attack it, but the problem is gone now.

those leaves on the top pic look wrinkly like a white hab. what kind is it?

I honestly dont remember what they are any more. My dad actually planted them one day and so from that point on I have no clue what they are anymore. No there hasn't been any hail yet so its not that. But as you can see the plants are healthy for the most part but I need to stop whatever is eating my plants. So there isn't a one stop solution for stopping all kinds of bugs from eating my babies? Would the soap and water mix work maybe? Any other ideas?

looks like slug damage to me....

Get some eggshells or diatomaceous earth and spread it on the soil surface around your plants. This will cut the slugs up with the sharp edges

Well I will be sure to get some egg shells. As far as salt goes how should I do that? Is it ok if I just take epsom salt and water and apply it to the plants like that?

slugs retreat to the soil in daylight (they are night time feeders) so you won't see them in the daytime...diatomaceous earth will cut them up or salt will dehydrate them when they crawl on the stuff...

Just remember that (to much) salt will also kill the plants. Put it around the pots and/or beds, not in them. Use plain salt, the cheapest you have, and put a nice string around the plants so that they have to cross is to get to the plant. Or try to cross it I should say... You'll have to pick the ones already inside your salt perimeter at night of course.

Beer will attract them, put out a couple of plates with beer and go harvesting marinated escargot in the morning!

That's exactly how my plants looked I checked last night and didn't find any slugs, but I did find a few snails and smashed them. I didn't think it could have been a slug because the plant that had the damage was fairly tall and in a pot. I guess he must have been pretty hungry to go to all those extremes.

A few of my plants looked like that. Basically one whole plant was eaten. It took me a while to figure it out. After looking over the plants multiple times, BAM there it was, a huge horn worm. I should have taken pictures but I garbed it and smashed to oblivion. This thing was huge and I didn’t see it for days.

I had trouble we slugs until I picked up some Iron Phosphate. One of the brand names is "Sluggo". It's safe and actually enriches the soil. I used it once and haven't seen a slug in the area since.

So lets go to the other possibility and assume its not slugs, but horn worms. What are good ways to get rid of those?

Sluggo works. That also looks like the same damage the cucumber beetles are causing me. Sluggo won't work for them because they fly. They look like green ladybugs.
