Plants dying

Hi,

A friend of mine gave me his "dying" plants.
They are still small in small pots.
I do think some of them can recover with time & care as the main stem (the only stem at this stage) doesn't look dry but he did cut all the leafs on some. I'm keeping them inside in a warm place without direct sun on them at the moment.
By any chance do you have any tips for me or it's a dead end? I have them only from last Sunday.

It's difficult to diagnose/predict plants through a computer screen and 5k miles..... It looks like potting soil & not media which I have seen problematic in seedlings as to root issues due to soil compaction and poor oxygen supply. Keeping a good balance of light watering may help until plants are bigger.

He just told me that he also was watering them everyday. It might be part of the issue as well.

I'd bet they would come back fine. Since they're in trays/saucers, leave them for a day or two to dry out a bit and then bottom water - just put a little water in the saucer. Since it looks like you're indoors, make sure they get sun so put them on a windowsill and bottom water every 3-4 days max.

Over watering is one ov the major issues with young plants, It is hard for a gardener to not fuss over their babies and watering is the easiest to "attend" to them with. It's also hard to figure out when "enough is enough". Good luck!
 
EDIT; I just read Siv's post & edited it a bit, great info!

Thanks a lot for your replies.
They are indeed indoors, I have changed the pot of few of them and will water them as Siv suggested.
Siv's comment gives me some hope. I will update the thread with how they evolve over time.
