Please help I.D. this Pepper Sold to me as "Boomba" at the Farmer's Market.

Hi all,

I bought a pepper plant (the tall one) from a plant vendor at my local Farmer's Market. He told me it was a very spicy pepper plant and called it "Boomba" The vendor was Mexican so maybe it is a Mexican name for this pepper plant because I cannot find "Boomba Pepper" anywhere on the googlewebs. Maybe he just made up "Boomba" . Either way, anybody know what kind of pepper plant i'm growing here?

A couple years ago I remember Junglerain having an unusual Rocoto that had white blooms. I don't think he had a name for it as it might have been a cross. He is a long way from California though. New Zealand or Australia I think.

That'd be my guess... looks like one of the pubescent c. annums, there are several. Hard to say before we see pods. Nice looking plant in any event, that thing should be a beast later in the season.

Thanks Guys! I'll look up Goats Weed and the Pubescent c. Annums and see which one it looks like. I sure hope you are right synclinorium, it's my first season so i'd love a beast that puts out a bunch of peppers!

The leaves look more green and wider than Goat Weed leaves. Looks more like Onza Roja. C. annuum
