breeding Please Inform me about strains, cross-breeding, and stablization

I'm a new chile grower here, I live in the Pacific Northwest. I have some good plants that I'm gonna start next week. But anyhow, I was interested in the aspects of cross-breeding peppers.

SO far I've heard you need to stablize your strain, because of F1 F2 etc.

So I'm wondering... is the information at this link correct? http://www.tonyslug.com/pepper/crossing.php

I'll be completely honest, I didn't read everything at the link you sent me to, but what I read matched up with what I know...

If there is anything different between the site you linked, and fatalii.net, go with whatever Fatalii.net says... its a good resource...

Plan on it taking you a long long time to complete this project.

I think 8 generations from the last back-cross is the generally accepted amount of time before a variety is "stable", and then its not completely so...
 
I read most of that link and they reference fatalii also for the actual cross polination process.

got a question about crossing.... after you have crossed the 2 parent plants and get F1 seeds/plants... do you cross the F1 Plants with the parents again or do you let them self [background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]pollinate [/background]from then on and choosing the plants with the characistics you want for F2+?
