This is fruit from a 2nd-year plant I inherited that was simply labeled 'Brown Habanero'.

Anyone have any thoughts about what strain it might be, based on these shots.

I'm not expecting definition, but if the knowledge is out there, it's here.

Many chocolate C. chinenses are very similar or the same, and much like the pics above. Chocolate habs are actually congo black/browns and they go by other names such as Caribbean black too. In my opinion it would be near impossible to accurately identify this by pic alone

I figured as much. But also figured I'd get a list I could speculate about, and pick out my favorite common name, just because it sounds better around the house, than 'those brown things', which can sometime have multiple meanings.
