pound of peppers

A pound of my lemon drop chiles make approximately 7 bottles (5 oz woozies) of my hot sauce. I like to make my sauces with a high chile content. I'm just wondering how much sauce other THP members are making with a pound of peppers.?!?!?

I like spicy hot but not tongue blistering heat.  So, I've learned to cut recipes in half when it comes to adding the peppers. Then I can make future adustments of heat levels.

Care to share your recipe for Lemon Drop sauce?   I've only just found one recipe  for Lemon Drops sauce and it uses Mangos.

I don't think i have an answer because it depends on the heat level i'm going for and the type of peppers etc... But i am growing lemon drops for the first time and like Streamer said would love to hear a recipe.

The sauce I made yesterday was made with a puree of 3lbs of superhots.  I got a quart plus a pint of puree from 3lbs.  That translates to 9 woozies.  Of course this is a hobby sauce I made for myself a few friends.  It is ALL peppers, vinegar, and agave.  No other ingredients.  I think it is all in what you are going for with your sauce.  The superhot ones need a higher concentrate of peppers obviously.

i understand everyone has a different approach when making hot sauce....i was just wondering if my yields were any good for the amount of peppers i was using. thanks all.

i ferment my lemon drop mash... add it to the sauce pot..mix in vinegar, roasted garlic, sugar and salt. it is bomb.

That lemon drop ferment does sound good!

I use anything from 1 cup habs or superhots per gallon of sauce to 50:50....Not much help, I'm afraid~~

And then there's the puree JayT is talking about.  98% peppers...
