price per pound of dorset nagas ????

I have been asked to sell some peppers and I have no idea what they should sell for.

I know that I can buy about 30 pounds of habs for around $125 but the dorset are hotter and not as common as habs so when I get a request for selling them I have no idea what to ask.

I also only have 4 good plants to pick from so I may only get 5 pounds at best but if there was a market I would look into growing 20 to 30 plants next year in one of our greenhouses.

I found a website tonight that sells one pound of fresh Bhut Jolokia pods for $279. How's that for freaking insane?

How much? Jesus H. Christ! Gotta be a type o. We get ripped off for chillis over here but nobody in their right mind would try charging that much. A supermarket here sells Dorset Nagas for 80p (about $1.40 I guess) for 10 grams. Mutiply that by 45 gives you about £35 or roughly $60. And that's not even bulk price!

Anyone ever get a quote from Frontal Agritech?

I'd think that they're one of the leaders in the Naga game.

Here's one selling Bhuts for around $40/lb. Pretty good selection and pricing IMO.

I've been selling my extra super hots ridiculously cheap this year just to get rid of them before they rot, but I really hope to start getting over $5/pound in the future, maybe even $10 if I find the right customers or if I start selling at farmers' markets

I asked for $25 can a pound and they said too much but then called back an hour later and now want to buy....

way I see it is that there may be cheaper but they are my peppers and I put alot of work into growing them so to me $25 a pound is low but if I can get 8 good plants next year I will have what I need and some to sell.

Unless you're hurting for the funds stick to your guns ski. If they want what you have bad enough they'll thank you for it as they're handing over the dough. Good luck.
