"Purple Flash" ornamental question?

Are the peppers produced by the "Purple Flash" ornamental good for anything, or is this simply a pretty plant? 
 
My wife picked one up because she liked the way it looks, but the idea of a pepper plant not being used in some way is strange to me.

It's mostly a pretty plant.  I don't let mine go to waste, I pick them as they ripen and they usually get tossed on the plate with my next meal (along with any other pod or two of whatever else was ripe).  I imagine if you had enough of them it would make a nice looking jar of pickled peppers!

Pretty much what I thought.  I might just add a few to my pepper sauce bottle.  Also if one is handy do as you are doing just toss it on the plate.
