Purple Leaves on my Brain Strain Yellows.

I had some stems and veins turning purple on one of mine . . .

Where did your seeds come from?

They cam from a box of fresh pods from Bakers. I planted 50 in the rapid rooter tray and 43 sprouted. The ones i took out already do not look like this.

If it came from a source that isolates their pods/plants, it might be anthocyanin production, due to excess light. Are they under artificial light?

yes they are under lights. I started over 120 plants this year under the same lights and never had this happen. They were purple in the veins also.

they are sitting right under the light, nearly touching it. It runs 18 hrs.

You got your seeds from the same place I did. I will have to see if the same happens to mine. My yellow brains are the only ones that turned purple in the vein . . . it will be interesting if they turn out to be purple brains.

yeah this is crazy. I feed them nutes every once in a while. They seem to be growing fine. With post more as time goes on.

Here is a shot of my larges Yellow Brain, on which I noticed the purple veins (kind of hard to see it in this pic).

Do you grow indoors only?

Could be a light issue? Too much too fast? They have been under this light for the same period of 18 hrs and two months time.

These have only been indoors. They were under a 400 watt equivalant cfl for 20 hrs a day up until the end of last month, when I got my 40,000 lumen set-up, which they were eased into on 8 hrs a day, now (past week) 12 hrs a day.

Im still on 18 even with my larger ones. Switching to 12 today.

Did you step up your lighting recently?

Could be anthocyanin "suntan" if that is the case.

Yes i'm running a 400 watt metal hylide in my other room. I'm having my growzone control box wired tonight so i can fire up my hps 400 watt lights. post pics late tonight.
