If the pods were ripe when picked then the seeds should be viable. That said, give them a soaking in some hydrogen peroxide to kill off any nasties before you attempt to germinate - half an hour will do if it's straight hydrogen peroxide. Freezing does not adversely impact seeds. I have grown chiles from seeds that were removed from pods that had been in my freezer for 6 months. Plus, keep in mind that seeds often freeze in the wild - they can handle it.
