Questions about rooting and extreme bud growth

Hi guys!

I have two questions for you chiliheads out there:

1. I have grown a couple of plants in a hydroponic system, but recently planted some of them in soil due to lack of space in the hydro. My question is, how long does it take for the roots to adjust to the soil? I tried to spred the roots in the pot but that was close to impossible, so how long does it take for the plant to start spreading the roots on it's own?

2. I have a plant in my hydro (a C. Annuum called CAP1042) that about two weeks ago started to get extremely bushy compared to his friends, and shortly after that started to grow buds. After some reading here at the forum I pinched about 20 of them off since the plant was only about 20cm (I'm a swede, and therefor uses the metric system). Now, about a week later, the plant is about 30cm, but has a total of 70 buds on it! Sure, some of them are extremely tiny but they're growing. So the question now is; should I leave the plant alone and see what happens or should I start a pinchingfrenzy on the poor thing?

Here comes a question related to question number 2 above.

This is probably a question with no precise answer, but aproximately how many of the buds on a average plant will acually turn into a chili later on? 25%? 75% Almost 100%?

A chilihead wannabe with alot of questions here :)

what nutrients you using and what the npk value of them?

With regards to your last question - it could be any of your suggestions as there are so many variables. Who knows how many will or will not?!

Hi toleman!

I'm using a 8-3-5 right now. I have been trying to find a fert with a higher P-value but it seem's to be close to impossible in sweden, buying from a regular store that is. But on the other hand, I still want my plants to grow so I figured that 8-3-5 is some what in between bloom and grow?

Yeah it's a one part solution. I'll just stick with it.

The last days I've noticed that some leaves were getting dark spots on it and today it got much worse. Checked the pH wich was way low so I changed the solution, wich is now back to normal.

By the way Chris, I saw a couple of your plants in another thread, nice looking chiliplants I have to say.

Cheers, they seem to be doing pretty good, nice and healthy anyway. Is your feed dry or a liquid because Im using a 3 part.

The problem I heard with single part liquid feeds is that as the trace elements are stored together they combine and react with eachother causing mixed elements that are no use to plants.

This is whats called lockout.

Do you have any pictures?

Chris
