raising peppers in pots

There are multiple holes in the container, the soil was bought at a nursery.

If I pull the plants now and add perlite and peat moss and replant will the plants survive?

if you don't beat them up too much...kinda be careful if you separate the plants and try and not break many larger roots...the hair roots are going to break but with a good watering after transplant, they should be OK.....

they will survive well. they may wilt for a day to two, but they will be fine. peppers a pretty hardy.. put them in single pots 5 gal pots best.

id re pot them all together, and use the soil you have now as the "native soil" from the thread i posted earlier

any ideas where I can get cheap big containers? I went with what I had on hand because I didn't want to up the cost any, but that doesn't help if the plants don't grow...

I will keep posted on my progress with the repotting

Craigslist always has ads for nursery pots as well as ads for 5 gallon buckets.
They usually avg $1ea in my area. Check local nurseries and landscapers, they might just give you empty containers if your lucky.
I was just at costco and they had a 2pk of 11 gallon containers for $4.50.

Definitely check your local nurseries. The guys down here were happy to see me take away all that I did and come back for more.

Our local Lowes big box garden centers have a 'recycle' program for their containers and the return of customers pots.
When I asked if I could do 'instant recycling' of some of their larger and better pots, I was told "help yourself". I got some fine pots, not fancy but you can't beat the cost $ 0.00 !
