"Reaper" from a local nursery

Bought two of these pepper plants from a well-respected local nursery, labelled as Carolina reapers.  Turns out they ain't, so it's definitely not just Home Depot getting screwed by suppliers.  I'm thinking these are some Thai variety, or maybe cayenne?  (Sorry for photo quality, I can re-take them if needed.

Well, I bought it when it was tiny.  Although, I'm a rank amateur in this field, so if there is a way to tell when the plan is very young, I wouldn't have been able to anyway.  Eh, I still got peppers out of the deal!

This is a great perspective on the situation beavers.  Also a great way to look at life in general.  I don't have any reaper seeds or I'd send them to you just for this post.  :)

I've got some on the way this season, would be happy to share.

The closest three buckets to the camera are reapers.

While I agree with Willard that it's a C. annuum (White flowers and non-constricted calyx.) the growth pattern, clustered and upright pods, leads me to believe its Santaka or Rooster Spur.

That's super interesting.  These peppers are definitely sticking straight upright in big clusters.  Do cayennes always hang down?

Edit: adding a photo of each plant (I have two).

Thank you for your generosity!  I've actually gotten a couple of offers already -- this place is really great!

When I look at your photo, I have this weird feeling in the back of my mind, like I am seeing into my own future.  :D
