chinense Reaper or Not to Reaper?

Is it pretty normal for first reapers to non-conform to typical shape? I've got pictures of the plant/peppers and their shape is highly variable, from the habanero look to a ghost look to the newer growth peppers more strictly typical reaper shape. It almost seems as the plant goes it's getting better to true shape. In no particular order here's some of the pods/plant that has photos varying from a few days ago until today. I do have other reaper plants that look absolutely true to form without this high level of variance. No, I haven't eaten one, not til it's fully ripened and I can find out if I melt my head off or not.
 
Not really asking for id here, more just a loose convo on true to shape or not and if this is normal.

Imho Reapers were released while still very unstable. Off-pheno's seem more common than true.
 
Moruga's, Primo's, Brainstrain from a reputable source show much more true pheno's and stability, imo.

They still look pretty cool to me. I love seeing the few with green/off-yellow/yellow/orange/red on same pepper as its ripening across. Trying to get as many to ripen around same time for uses in jellys/hot sauce/mixes im doing canning. Soon enough I'll know based on taste & how much it hurts, thats truly the easiest way for me to tell.

This is a pic from Al's (alkhall) glog that he just took recently. These are 7 Pot Primo's, that have been around longer and are more stable, grown from seeds he got from Troy Primeaux, the creator.

You have grown very nice looking plants and pods! Very healthy!

To me they look a lot like reapers or brain strains in that with the round bumpy shape and tails.
