Red Ghost Pepper winter outdoor soil grow.

This was the day I topped the plant.  This is a plant I bought at a local big box store about a week prior.

The soil is Kellogg Potting Soil with added Perlite to allow for better aeration.  There are no extra nutrients added yet as it is still a fresh transplant.  I have a small indoor grow light box for wintering cuttings, but I am enjoying watching the growth under sunshine.

Less than two weeks later with only fall sun and airy soil.  It looks like there might be a happy plant! :)

+1 Mr. Joe! Sometimes that's why I don't
bother pinching flowers, the plant will do
it on its own.

The plant looks much healthier!

To me I always want fruit before the plant wants to do it anyways.

The plant is responding very nicely to the lamp it is under.  It feels like it has doubled in size!  Pretty sure it hasn't, but I can dream :)

Little bit of leaf cracking due to dehydration I think, but that is manageable.

Have noticed a bit of white fly.  Will be cleaning the leaves with Ivory and water today while we have sunshine.  At least I do not see aphids, so no ant invasion!

Oh, and starting the Carolina Reaper seeds on the 1st, so the garden will be expanding a little for spring.  Just need to get them to February under the lamp, so they should be ready to live their happy lives under the wonderful sunshine! :)

February? I'm jealous. We will still have 4 more
months of growing inside in February! Can't wait
to see some photos of your plants then, just to
keep me going until I can get the plants out for
good!

Have fun, Kaity!

Neem oil is a wonderful insecticide!  The Whitefly infestation exploded from the time I made note of it.  I finally made it the nursery and picked up the neem oil.  By the time I mixed the spray bottle for treating, the plant was covered!  Treated the plant and after two spray downs the Whitefly is gone.  I am letting the ants clear off any of the dead stuff and then I will treat again before shifting back to under the lamp.

It is very happy with getting some natural sunlight as well.

I sure wish that worked as well on the green peach aphids!
