Reimer's Seeds Co.

Hope this is the right place for this.

I've read all the negative comments around here about Reimers but I need to find out that kind of thing for myself. Unless we're talking about big bucks.

I ordered a couple of packs of seeds from them, eggplant and toms. The seeds were on the higher side price wise and the shipping charges were $5.75, highest I've paid so far. Hell it was cheaper when I sent some seeds to The Netherlands and Germany!

It took 23 days for the seeds to arrive. 23 days. I find that on the ridiculous side of things. I sent them a bit of constructive criticism to hear what their reasons are. If anybody is interested I'll post them here when I receive them.

So you can add me to the growing line of unsatisfied customers of Reimer Seeds.

Wait until only a few seeds germinate and they are a variety you've never seen before let alone wanted. You think your unhappy now.

Every year someone decides to buy from them despite endless warnings, and there is always dissapointment:( And don't expect you'll hear back from them, they have the worst customer service and will always blame you.

One reason why I only ordered a couple of packets.

In today's day of instant worldwide communication I wonder how someone with such a lousy reputation can continue to survive in the business world. I wonder if the have a public feedback page. Think I'll check that out.

Dave, I may have to just do that.;)

I ordered some specific seeds from Reamers [sic] because the only other company that had them was Thompson and Morgan who, IMO, are as bad as Reamers but more expensive.

The germination rate was bad and I wrote to the company. Now they probably do not hire the class genius to work in customer service but they may look for the class idiots.

Their actual, and I had (and still may have) response said in essence:
The reason for the lower than expected germination rate is because you are growing these plants in hydroponics.

That might make sense, except I SOWED THEM IN DIRT! I pointed this out to Reamers, that unless their seeds are precognizant, are they refusing to germinate because they know they will have to spend the rest of their life with their roots in water?

Reamers refunded my money and banned me from ordering them again. Oh well.

This proves it! These douches are so bad, they actually refuse peoples money! That's the whole reason you refund people's cash whey you screw up, so they'll come back and spend it again!

Losers... We should spam them...

i knew this thread wasn't good news the moment i read Reimers.

Patrick, try ebay next time. Seriously. I've ordered about a dozen or mor kinds of seeds in the last few weeks and each time i had EVERY pack in LESS than 1 week. Might not all be pure seeds, but so far they're all germinating. yeah, all herbs, but i saw TONS of heirloom veggies and more.

Also, shop around on there too. One dude refunded me half the shipping cost if ordering more than a certain amount. i even bought more from him later in the week i was so happy.

Also...why not just post here? We almost all are growers. Hell, i've sent out hundreds of seeds for the cost of only a stamp or two.

that said, i really do sympathize. i hate shitty mail order companies.

I stay away from e-bay too unless its a seller known to me. IMO E-bay is the quickest way to get ripped off when it comes to buying seeds. Many e-bay sellers don't even grow peppers, they just sell seed they say are rare when they know little about them.
