romy6 2014

So I guess it is about damn time I started a grow log! Not a whole lot going on at the ranch  :shh:  but hopefully that will change soon. I grow peppers all year around outdoors. I live on the central east coast of Florida. It has many ups and downs but more ups  :fireball: . Bugs such as mites and aphids are always a problem for me. Over the years I am getting better at diagnosing them at a early stage . This Christmas I was lucky enough to have santa bring me an aerogarden and some how managed to make it's nesting place on my kitchen table. I know this is short lived and I will need to find a safer resting spot for it. Here is a pic of my outdoor operation. Most of these plants are between 8 months or older.

They look very haggard at the present moment. Lack of sunlight and low humidity will do that. But come spring they better bounce back into action.

Here is my little indoor operation. It isn't much but keeps me happy and grows peppers super fast. I planted a 7 pot lava( judy) , borg9( tmudder), yaki blue( nigel via standbyandfire), true cumari ( from judy) , defcon 7 ( tmudder), choc naga x brain ( me,via winchicken, via tmudder), and parsley for the boy :)

First to pop was the 7 pot lava. Few days later the defcon 7. Yaki and borg both popped with helmet heads and I managed to kill them trying to remove. I just added a few more seeds in each pouch .

Stay tuned and keep it green my fellow chili addicts .

Nice review Jamie! Things are settling down a bit here at the new place. I'm working to get an update on my much neglected glog here soon.  Thanks for the seed offer, I'll check out your growlist, although my list for next year is unwieldy already.  Just being hopeful!

Interesting... I never would have thought about crossing a Douglah with a Scotch Bonnet... they're each hard to improve on for different reasons. Do you think the cross is worthy of growing out to stabilize the traits?

I do Rick . It has all the characteristics I like for powders and sauces . I can send you seeds if you would like to grow it next year .

That would be very cool bro'... could I get you to add a few 7-pot Lava seeds and I'll toss in a bottle or two of your choice of sauces? Right now I have a fermented Frut "Lousiana-style" sauce made with the "Nabasco" cross, Donne Sali and Tabasco pods, "Rick's Red" Habanero sauce and the Blueberry-smoked Chocolate Habanero sauce.
     Cheers!

Nice harvests, Jamie!

I wish I had a climate where it would make sense to use the aero garden all year.
As it is, I can get two (three if I'm lucky) rounds out of it for a season.  I really like
the way it gets starts off to the races.  It's easy to leave them too long for easy
transplanting!

Awesome poddage and grow, brother!

Wow, 2 really nice harvests there Jamie and I bet that broccoli would be great with some Fire roasted peppers and Feta :) Won't be long now till I'm processing the Pumpkin sauce. Lost all my addresses though when I switched phones so I'm going to need a resend on it before I can get some up to you. Hope you had a great Turkey day, my family did it up right!

Oh, when are the Tamales going to be ready, I know you're going to be set ;)

Woot!

Still pulling! We got some cold weather that mostly shut us down, and It's howling out there as I typo...

That Broccoli should keep producing until it gets hot; by then it will just flower. At least mine usually does here..I planted a bit late 9-15 from seed. No heads yet, but soon!

Jamie killer harvest mon, hats off \o_

Hope you and the family have been great =)

I love da color on your Orange Thai plant, she looks great!

Keep up dat great work brethren =)

Ahh, to be able to harvest year round.  That would be so wonderful.  I really envy you brother Jamie.  Harvests look great as always my friend.  How's the back feeling today after laying all that sod?

Thanks guys for the love . It was another great year for me. Peppers didn't produce like years past but my time and attention where a big part of that . I am finding less time for peppers and more time for the kids . I will still be growing next year but don't know if I will find the time to do a glog . I am sure I will but nothing like years past . A few pics until we meet again

New Smoker that will be put to good use . Should have some of my best powder ever !!!
