Root Knot Nematodes a major ordeal down here in Florida for anything Solanoideae.
 
In my old yard I had a huge Chinaberry Tree, Neem's toxic bastard cousin, which I had good results chopping big wads of raw leaf into a bucket of water, let it soak a good 20 minutes, and dunk stuff into it or pour into stuff.
 
But I dont have it anymore, so I guess it's time to explore chemical options as its been some years since I took growing out some pepper pods seriously and have no intent on wasting my time with these bastards on the prowl.
 
Any suggestions?
 
Here is a handy pamphlet with info about ways to control root knot nematodes. Also you can get predator nematodes that will thrive in the same environment that the bad ones do. Steinernema feltiae is the kind to look for as they have the greatest impact on the populations of root knot nematodes. Good luck.
 
The problem here in FL is the sandy soils. The RNN love it. All that crop rotation stuff, it just doesnt work over the course of a year, year after year, the way I grow system wide (which would be hard to explain). The bastards are down i the ground, and anything set on top of it they crawl up in there. And they attack far more that the solanum tribe (including cactus), where there about the only thing from about literally a hundred different species / cultivars I've seen is Pea Eggplant & Brugmansia.
 
Now this year I wanna see some pods as I havent made a big thing about really producing some in some years and intend not to play any games so am actually entertaining chems...
 
I've always done the 'pest eliminator' nematodes but still endured the root knot devils. RNN so thick here in FL you'd expect to only ever have to deploy their oppressors once and they'd take over the state LOL,.. assuming the typical 'flea destroyer' kits had the right microbeastie....
 
I think they usually have Heterorhabditis spp.

Google results showing fungus gnats too, I wonder if they'd kill these other bastard gnats I've got out here they attack your eyeballs and earholes relentlessly certain times of the year I wanna move over them alone LOL.
