This evening I take the pup out for his 2nd to last pit
stop of the night and I always take a flashlight to make
sure he goes and to look at my plants.Had a brief light
to medium rain nothing bad so I went down the row plant by
plant and all looks good til I get to the Bonnet.I see its biggest branch that has flowers in bloom and 2 pods forming
drooping really low.Closer look i see its split almost 75%
off and I am thinking OH F NO.So I run get some string and
thinking I could fix it(Just today I staked it) but the way
its growing impossible.Then I remember I had cut up a wire
coat hanger for the earlier stake job and remember that
I had the top part of the hanger that was shaped in a y
form.I used the y wire to prop up the branch to the stem
very firmly and used so string to stabilize the wire and more
string higher up the branch for extra stabilization.Hope
this works.The storm in July that nearly killed the Bonnet split
a branch of my tabasco but I fused that one with string to the stem and it worked so hopefully this will too!!
