I have been planting in waves. First waves back in December, then it seems like every week since then. Just set some to germinate last week in some snazzy dollar store containers and the last plant will be on February 15th for the growdown throwdown (have to wait that day, or my wife will kill me if I do it on Valentine’s day).

The first batch was the largest in the 72 hex container. I had started a few in Dixie cups, but noticed after cutting a slit for drainage the cups lose a lot of their durability, so decided the first few to germinate went in Dixie cups. Paper Lantern and Big Jim, of the 8 cups only 3 made it. Still waiting for Bhut Jolokia (only had 2 seeds), Devilstongue, Jalapeno’s (probably won’t make it, tell the story later) and the scorpion (has been a month, but some others have just hooked in the last days so hoping these make it).

Here is my starter set up until it warms up enough in the garage. Used a shoe rack, power supply I had, hex trays from last year, dollar store items and some LED lights. Overall only cost me about $11. Found some nice 12 tray containers at the dollar store for the second plants. Nice find. And then the little white containers to try to germinate. Used the papertowel in a ziploc for the first, didn’t have much luck a lot of them rotted.

All moved in to the new house! Got my plants a nice spot in the kitchen but its time to put them outdoors! Well half of them anyway. The other half over the next week.

The front 3 containers have been outside since Friday (well during the day) and the others joined them for some sun today.

This particular group (primarily Goatsweed, Bolsa and can't remember the other grew up and not wide, not sure if the lighting was not great in the beginning or if its just a plant trait.

Still have quite a few plants soaking up the LED lights. Just didn't want to rush and, with my luck, have something bad happen and lose all my plants and hard work.

Plants are looking great! I wish mine looked that good but I been neglecting them. Bolsa and goats weed both grow tall, most my baccatums are this year. 3 times the height of my other plants.

Gotta love fidalga roxa coloration. I didn't grow it this year but i really wish the cross I did with it and aji limon would have taken. Maybe next year I'll grow it again and try crossing it with something.

It has been a little rough getting the plants outside with the new house! Finally got our old house on the market and unpacking in the new one. Have a designated spot for the garden currently has a brick walkway on it and plenty of weeds. I had a few planters laying around and my son created a planter from our chocolate milk container ha! Hoping to get the rest in the garden this weekend they are severely root bound and I am a little worried that they are going to stay tiny little  plants!

Gave my neighbor 10 plants, my uncle 5, mother 15 and my grandfather 15. Down to about 45 left. Probably end up giving another 15 or so away.

I had planned to plant out more if not all the plants this weekend but starting Saturday Night we were going to get some crazy winds, rain, thunderstorms and a light freeze. Ended up reaching 50MPH wind gusts, and some freeze.

So early Saturday Morning I built a raised Garden Bed. Going to get some soil this week and hopefully plant them out soon. Have 39 plants that still need to be planted, will end up with about 20 once I give a few more away.

It is 3x6 and cost about $18 to make, so not to bad at all. Son helped with the screws so they arent totally straight. But I think it will do, might make one more this week also. FIrst time not planting in my huge garden with 20 rows! Will have to see how this raised garden pans out.

So it has been so crazy buying a house, selling a house and not having my rich soil! My buddy was able to get me a load of some compost this weekend. Mixed it with some peat moss and got the rest of my chile's transplanted. I am not sure that they are going to make it as the roots were so root bound. Some of the plants were showing bad signs of dying already. SO I planted them all in one raised garden bed. They are really close together but I figure some may not make it. So I will either have a huge cluster f of a bunch of plants or it might work out.

These are them in their new home. It is quite soggy, you know how it goes. Weather is nice and that night 50 MPH winds, HAIL (cmon!) and a straight downpour the first night, second night same thing with some thundershowers.. This week should be in the 90+ range so it should dry up pretty quick... hopefully.

Really bummed that I had to wait so long to get these in the ground. This year was my best year from seed to 6inch plants. They all looked amazing! Then had to have them sit out to long before planting. However all the others I gave to family and friends are doing amazing!

These were all quick shots just to get an update posted I will get some better ones of the pods these are putting out, only 1-3 on each but better than nothing!
