Saturday afternoon flower porn

These have got to be the easiest pepper to grow. They don't care if it's hot, cold, sunny, cloudy, dry, wet... they just grow and grow and grow.

A sixpack of H.Wax in 4" pots:

Got to get more of these in the ground or 1gal pots after this cold snap which starts tomorrow.

So, are you getting some wild weather this weekend, too?

Yep, windy as heck right now and supposed to be a storm blow through over night. I just LOVE when I can hear branches (or whole trees) falling in the dark. Then it's getting cold again - frosty maybe a couple of nights.

Lovely looking wax peppers you have. So healthy you will peppers all year long from those plants. The leaf shape and the full blossoms look terrific. I am going to get my peppers outside as soon as the weather permits. Nice pics.

You won't get that from the HHW! But they are my fav! May they live long and prosper.

Mike

Yeah, I know. They're good for snacking and salads and poppers and such. And for the neighbors - who love them!

beautiful plants Carol...they will make good stuffers or will be excellent just sliced...pickeld hot banana peppers were my fathers favorite....

They look great! How do the peppers taste? Not much heat, I gather, but is it jalapeno like? Or fruity? Or...?

Kind of sweet like a red bell but with a different tangy flavor depending on how ripe. And heat is less than a jalapeno - well less than a GOOD jalapeno.

how old are they on those pics?

They are from seeds planted on 12/4, but they didn't come up for a while, so I'd say they broke dirt on 12/20-ish. Let's call it 9+ weeks since they first saw light.

Here they are getting transplanted from their starter cups (9oz) on Feb 7 along with a Greek and some jals.
