so, just an experiment i use this media commonly use in orchids tree fern
i crashed it up into smaller then boil for 30 mins and saw 6 varieties
 
trinidad scorpion orange       
golden nugget      
habanero hot lemon
choc bhut j        
orange bhut copenhagen      
ufo purple
 
what are your thoughts? criticisms are open )

an orchid growing medium i crashed it into small medium and try to germinate seeds in that. its called tree fern

Many people use coco coir, and it seems to be similar, so should be ok.
