seeds-germination Seed viability

Noob question,  if seeds are taken from this season and left to dry for 3 weeks in open air in shade am I able to sow the seeds and expect seedlings after this period?

I'm new here also, but I remember seeing a post where a similar question was asked. Someone said they take seeds directly from a mature pod and plant them. I think the drying out process is only for if you intend to store them.

I'd wait for the more experienced growers to respond before doing anything though.

Yes.  I only let mine dry for a week before storing, some I have sowed right after drying.  Never tried sowing fresh from a pod though.

I have plates downstairs with seeds sitting on them for going on a month+ now. Slowly I am getting them into coin envelopes for storage. Thanks for this post. It reminded me about giving some extras away.

Thanks guys, great answers.

About a 4 days ago I did sow some Naga seeds and was wondering if they will ever hook, but now it’s clear, they most probably will.
