It depends on how much decent sunlight you get.
I tried a few plants in the windowsill over winter here and they got really leggy (tall and spindly) as they were trying to grow taller to get a decent source of light, so in the end I had to put them under lights.
The south window seedlings seem to be growing twice as fast as the one at east window. But the eastern seedlings are not dropping leaves like the ones that away from the windows.
