What are your thoughts?  Should seeds be patentable?
 
Should a company be able to own all subsequent generations of a plant once they release it into the wild?

     Until Monsanto accepts full responsibility for Roundup-ready Palmer Amaranth, all their whining about patent infringement is nothing more than a childish tantrum.
     Fair is fair, right. They can't have it both ways.

What is the responsibility they have to accept?
 
The old approach to dealing with this is having the plants grow sterile. There is new technology being developed that would require purchase of an activator. You could replant the seeds all you want, but if you don't have the activator you won't be able to have plants with the transgenic traits.
 
I would rather see seeds unpatented but with greater non-corporate funding for GM research.
