Thats the reason I didn't join my Home Owners Association. I figure the city of Fort Worth has enough petty laws and didn't want any other ones...

Hell, my yard is one of the nicest in the neighborhood....let 'em bitch if they want...they say let the first without sin cast the first stone don't they?
 
A couple of communities just up the road are like that (Cincinnati is a small part of Greater Cincinati for those not from the area. There are actually villages and cities within Cincy's borders). One of them requires not just a permit to replace windows, but they get to approve or disapprove the material, color, etc.
