Shipping peppers?

Anyone ever ship whole fresh pods from the USA to Canada?

If so, how can it be done to avoid customs hassles or spoilage or whatever?

My step-son is in BC and I'd LOVE to send him a couple Naga pods.
He has NO IDEA how hot these things are, but he is dying to try one.

Suggestions?

If its under 3 or 4 lbs you dont have to fill out
the huge customs paperwork just a small one.You could say
you are shipping say a small figurine or something
and not have to go thru all the other b.s.just keep
it under the 3 or 4 lbs and keep the box small

Canada's even worse, I expect the peppers would be dried by the time they've got there.

Thats my fear. My experience sending packages to Canada is that
it takes a couple weeks.

Canada is a great country in other ways but their postal system
is the worst I've ever seen.

I may just dehydrate it beforehand and have him rehydrate on the far end...

Hey sky...I started a thread the other day about vacume sealing over canning fresh pods.Several people here answered saying the sealing would extend their fresh life by a month or so.No one was positive as to definite time.It would also help keeping the lil beagles from sniffing it at customs.Might be worth a thought.Good luck.Just put them in a tube or something so as not to deform them when the suck is put them.

I have to say that shipping within canada is as good as the US but the border is what messes it all up.

I can ship from one end of canada to the other in a day but from me to the closest US town is 3 hours by car and 2 weeks by mail./...

I've gotten stuff from Europe and Brazil quicker than from the U.S. so I guess the U.S. postal service really sucks too.

LOL. I seem to find a way to offend everyone.

I SAID Canada is a great country didn't I?!?

US postal service is awesome. We suck in other ways.
