Should Baby Leaves be plucked off when true leaves form?

Should Baby Leaves be plucked off when true leaves form?

Eventually, the first baby leaves fall off. Once the first set of true leaves is full sized, will the plant grow faster if I pluck off the baby leaves because the plant is wasting energy on them, or do they serve another purpose while they are still attached?

No, if it is green it is providing photosynthesis for the plant, providing growing nutrients for the plant, not the other way around. Let it be.

It is possible to have a full sized plant producing pods with the seed leaves still attached and HUGE. I've had cotyledons get 2-3 inches long on some Bhuts after they started popping flowers.

Plants have been surviving for hundreds maybe even thousands of years without human help.

Just let them do their thing.

That has to be the best thing I've seen all day. My mantra!

btw..... plants have survived and flourished for millions of years. People tend to overcomplicate everything
