disease-pests Simple tool to help prevent soil loss (Aphid removal Bath)

Necessity is the mother of invention. I had hundreds of aphids on  my two month old seedlings growing inside and had to do something. I regularly spray with homemade insecticide which helps a little but can never really get  the undersides of leaves well.

So I mix up a gallon of the homemade solution and give each plant a bath-dunk and  swirl.

To prevent or at least greatly minimize soil loss while holding plants upside down while bathing. I simply traced the top of a 3-4" pot on scrap Styrofoam egg carton, cut it smaller until it fit at the soil line. Cut a slit to the center so I can slide the plant stem through and hole slightly larger held onto it while giving each plant (upside down) a vigorous swishing completely submerged. The plants loved it and now I have very few aphids. For the time being. I can't wait to get them outside.
