Would like others to name the smallest ornamental they have ever grown. Will use that for next years seed shopping
Really like them for decorating and in limited spaces.
I grew hundreds of tiny "Cap 1546" last season and they can be very tiny with pods. They easily stay dwarfed if left in smaller pots,or can get bigger if potted up early.

Very nice looking plants, the purple stem look and variety of colors!Guess cap1546 is the same as rainbow chili?
Here is a close up of a Pretty Purple Pepper that I got from Tomato grower supply company, they are suppose to get about 2' tall, and this one is larger than the other ones, around... 10" wide and maybe that tall.. but the other/younger ones that have flowers on them are only a little bigger than yours, and they look really cool, first time growing them, the white stuff on the leaves is some Cal-Carb that I got from Xtreme Growers from their sample package, and the leaves are really cool, they are a mix of purple to green, and they usually look a little better than mine, but I've been trying to work out the humidity and air circulation in my tent but are normally nice a flat and the.
but the pods go from purple, to creamy color as it goes into yellow, then to bright orange, and then to red.. I haven't seen the red, but as you can see, one is orange already.. and when I tried a yellowish/purple one (unripe obviously) it tasted a lot like a grape, but with some really good heat to it lol can't wait for my Bulgarian Carrot crossed with this plant to ripen up so I can get some plants growing!
but sorry, this pic was from my phone and I was more interested in the color of the pods than the whole plant, and the flowers usually look much better but most of them are in the process of falling off after pollination, and the white spray stuff really does diminish the bright colors, but oh well, you get the idea

Cool plant with lots of different color stages
I can see the white stuff covering the leaves a bit, but still nice colors visible. The taste is more fruity than standard Red Habanero? I haven't tasted so many different peppers yet since none available here so have to get my own ripen ones. Last year was my first try at growing peppers but I was way too late, started seeds in mid May and only got like 10 ripe pods from the fastest growing plants hahaYou mentioned grow tent, it's indoors in soil?
These plants can be nice for decorations too, certainly would do nice in a window or decoration on a table. Would need it to get to the pod producing stage first though, no enough light on a normal table hehe
Never heard of the company you mentioned, checked them out and they got quite a list of pepper types. Probably doesn't ship to Norway though.
Would be interesting to see what comes of your Bulgarian Carrot cross, very interesting combination.
yeah it's in my grow tent, they do well in low light areas, and they seem to really reach for the light more than others because the ones that are closer to the light have one stem or so, that is much longer than the others lol, pretty funny, and all I do is just spin them around and the other stem grows long, and the orange and the yellow pods in the pic are now a super bright orange, like Halloween orange, and as far as the taste, I haven't tasted too many pods either for the most part, but the orange habs that are around here and that I have had have more of a.. well hab taste, I'm still trying to grasp how people think they are fruity, although the yellow pepper powder I got from Wayright on here is actually pretty fruity kind of, and same with the Bulgarian Carrots, which I love because they are really big producers for such small plants (about 2-2.5' and semi bushy, but not so much out, just a lot of main stems and really compact, they are great) but I say it tasted like a grape, mainly in texture, there was a little fruity taste, without the tart taste of an actual grape, but like I said, I got impatient and wanted to try one so I tried one that was still going from purple to cream colored, was about 50/50 split, so still far from ripe, once those 2 orange ones turn red, I will let you know how they taste, hopefully next week they will be ready
and my Bulgarian Carrots are super fast growing and so I have been screwing around with crosses with them.. well I did this cross with the BC and PPP (pretty purple pepper) and some of the pods on that plant are just starting to ripen, I had overwatered it a bit, so it's been a little slow, and another plant has a BC X Tepin cross, but the BC X PPP should be really neat..and the pretty purple peppers alone, if you can put them under a CFL for a little bit and then put them in a south facing window, or a table that is in front of a southern window, then you should be OK.. that is what I plan on doing with mine, since they are small, I'm going to keep them in pots, and at the end, probably find a nice looking pot and put it back inside, and maybe give a few friends the other 3 for their windows ect..

here, I just took 2 quick pics of them again that give you a better idea of how they look, the first pic are the 2 plants in the front of the tent, the 2nd pic are 2 plants that are kind of buried in the side of all the other plants,(had to lean over a bunch of them and hold a few stems back to get the pic which is why it might not be really centered as well) so they are not getting a ton of light, but they are doing great still
and the HID light is making them look a lot lighter/yellow than they are, they are more of a nice light/almost lime or light forest green mixed in with the purple, that and it's my phones camera which is a good camera for a phone and 8mg pix, but still a phone lol
and just to give you an idea, they are buried in THIS: lol (this was taken on 3/28, and they are a good deal bigger now, by about 3" or more, it's pretty crazy, once i got their watering/ferts down, they really blew up)

No, they are quite unique. I've never seen such small plants full of pods, and I've grown lots of different ornamentals. I wish I had better pics of all the little ones I had last year

That's interesting, so maybe growing one of these in a south facing window could work here even with the weak northern sun.
For me the red habanero seem a bit soapy in the taste. For me the perfect pepper might be a superhot version of jalapeno flavor. I sure need to taste more types of pepper, maybe there are ones that I like much more than jalapeno.
Next year I sure will buy most of my seeds from pepperlover but I will also consider Tomato grower supply company, if they ship internationally.
You sure got like a forest going there, so compact. Very strong colors on the pods at different stages even though you said it's not ideal picture because of light conditions, but anyways.
I was stupid enough to place 6 plants in one small ebb and flow hydro system, now there is no space between there! Can't even get between the plants to pollinate flowers or have a look. At least yours are in pots so it's easy to move them when it's needed, their not hydro anyway hehe

The smallest plant that I have is the "Mini Thai" Which will get no more then a half ft tall. Small mounding and an excellent front border plant. Chili's are very edible fresh, or perhaps stir fried with thai basil makes a nice addition to Thai Fried Rice. ......or even dried, it can fire up a rice noodle dish.

Interesting, never heard about that one either. Tried to search a bit to find where they got seeds but I only found names like "Thai Hot Mini", "Thai Miniature" and "Thai Hot". All smaller ornamental plants. Where did you get your seeds from?
Sure eat noodles sometimes, would be happy to try them in that. Would have to be next season though
yeah I move 4 of the middle plants out so I can get to them all when I water, they are really close but as long as they are growing until I get them outside I will be happy, and I moved things around after that photo, just switched the sides the fan was on pretty much and moved a few plants around, but my biggest fear is slipping and falling on them lol, I've come kind of close a few times, but I built up my balance pretty quickly lol
if anything I will be collecting seeds from all the peppers I have this year so at the end of the summer I should have some seeds, just need to remember, but I will be around and active throughout the summer, so shouldn't be a problem to get some seeds!

When is the time you normally would plant out where you live, and whats the low temps at that time?
Sadly I've been there, done that! My second Fatalii plant in my hydro system I managed to slip my hands and fall down and hit it. It ended up really crooked but caused the plant to get really bushy and get new shoots everywhere, so maybe it was just for the better lol I've had stuff fall down on them too, smashing some leaves but never killed any "YET"
Sure you better store some seeds, always like to make my own stock. I didn't have much success last season, was my first though!

and slash, I have been collecting a few of the seeds that I have now from the Bulgarian Carrots, and 2 different types of cherry peppers, I've just been sticking the seeds in a solo cup with a piece of paper towel shoved down in there so the seeds rest on it, I had them in plates before, but I had one of the cats knock it over when I had set it on the table for a little while and mix them all up on a set of other peppers. This year I got my mom some cool tomato seeds that I want to save the seeds from, which should be interesting, I will have plenty of practice though.
and so far I have only broken 2 or so small stems.. well side branched I guess from the tops of them when trying to climb over to get to the back to adjust something, which is why now I just move a bunch out of the way.. and as far as plant out time, usually we plant out at the end of April/first week in May, with all the other plants, but I am going to wait to do my pepper plants until the 2nd week in May, depending on the temps, and first week it is suppose to be on average a low of 45ish, and mid May it gets up to lows of low 50s, but this year is really warm, we are getting about a week of rain next week and then it usually heats up after a long rain like that for the spring. If anything I am going to just harden them off, and then keep them outside for a week in the pots until the lows hit the 50s (with an occasional high 40s or something) so that the pots can warm up fast during the day, and they can get use to it a little more while the temps rise over a week or so..

Dunno why it seems like photobucket has blocked Norway, had to use proxy to be able to view your pictures :\Quite normally true that long period of rain means change in weather for the warmer. It's happening here now, over a whole week with rain and it hasn't been raining for 2 months. Thought it would be much warmer there than here but not a lot of difference really, your living by the ocean in Connecticut or inland? Here the ocean affects the weather a lot, living very close to it. So unstable, can be 40f one day and 74f the next day.
I feel so impatient about getting my plants out in the greenhouse, it's an exciting thought but the temperatures are just not there at all. Down to 40f these nights.
Soon you won't have much of a choice, barely no more space for them to get any bigger hehe

I'm about an hour from the ocean, so I'm inland kind of, but not too much, lately the weather has been pretty spastic lol.. and yeah it is getting pretty crowed in there, even a few weeks later they are at least 5" taller than in that pic, but luckily they are staying pretty compact and growing up, the leaves on the bottom don't do as well, but once they get out in the sun, all the leaves that are starting to sprout from the nodes will pop out really fast, I'm just worried about the 60+ pepper plants that I have in party cups now lol, but I know that I have a month before I would need to transplant those.. which is just about what I will need before they go outside, should work out perfectly! and on monday it's suppose to be in the mid 70s, so I think that rain bumped up the heat finally.. was waiting for it to happen, the big temp changes are a few hours south, starting in Va, it is a good 10-20 degrees warmer there, when a few years back it was maybe a 10 degree difference than before lol
