food Snowbound experiment

My first "food post." Hope I'm in the right place.

Never thought I would ever use the word "snowbound." Yet here finds me in North Charleston, S.C. a city deadlocked from a freak snowstorm (we can deal with hurricanes but snow, not so much.) Looking in the pantry/fridge for something to eat, I found a couple packs of Portabella mushrooms with "four cheeses" that I purchased on a whim a few days ago. Having had some delightful Lagunitas "12th of Never" ale, my palette sought something a bit salty and spicy. So a new creation was born, Witness, poartabella four cheese mushrooms with anchovies and wonderful locally made hot sauce.. Killer. I post it here in hopes I find it later and try it again. Haven't a clue any clever name to call it. Maybe just what it is?

My girlfriend often makes Jalapeño poppers, where the pod is stuffed with pimento cheese and baked. She added bacon one time and it was great. Had her use anchovies one day and it was amazing. Kinda had those on my mind really, but lacking the ingredients I thought this might work instead, and it did! A new staple, but I will try the pickled jalapeño slice, I think it would be the icing on the cake.....

Sometimes you win with experimentation, sometimes not. Got lucky....

You Canadians.

OP posts about stuffed mushrooms.

You post about ice fishing.

I swear you can't live with these people.

Posty up pics of fried northern, walleye, or char with lemon and tartar.

All will be right with the world.

Thanks bud! I shared your sentiments and it helped to smooth over a slight "misunderstanding" over some snow stomped initials (long story.)  It's a little warmer now than yesterday..

Try cream cheese and a mini cheddar little smokie inside....wrap the outside with bacon.

to kick it up a notch, season bacon with pepper powder of your choice.
