So I threw out some seeds that took forever to germinate into my planter ... thinking that they have died over storage etc.
 
Well guess what? Now I have QUITE A FEW chilli seedlings, of complete mixed breeds! They should be generally Chinense, probably mostly Congo Reds, but I recon there were some Fataliis, and may be some Nagas too.
 
Gosh darn. I am gonna grow them out, come what may. :mouthonfire:
 
Now you have some nice surprises awaiting you...some seeds take forever to germinate,even when  we think ,heck I've given them enough time..
that happens to me too...hope you have lots of pods :)

In an ideal world I would have kept them rather than throwing them out. The snag for me is that my facilities and climate does not allow for slow starting, slow growing phenos. Where I live the growing seasion is short, it's a shame as that puts a restriction on what I can have. I have looked into Annums and they may become more numerous in the future, but for now I try to keep the faster germinating Chinenses.

Yep, did pretty much that, only in March and not February. They still took what felt like "forever" despite the warmer ambient temperature. The lot that got thrown out did not sprout after 3 weeks. It's harsh but I need them to be fast as can be, within reasons. They have Nature's Big Halide now ;)  so they may well be my "over winter crew" for season 2017.
