How about this. Take a long nail and drive it thru a think board or plank. Take a dried piece of corn, still on the cobb, and set it vertically on the nail, stabbing the nail into the center of the cobb. Now take a butch T, or any other superhot pepper, and cut it in half. Take each half and rub the inside of the pepper all over the corn cobb. I recommend wear gloves, as you want to really smear the pepper over the corn, giving it a nice coating. Let dried overnite. Then simply set outside next to the vegetables you are having a problem with.
