ok so i have been hearing alot of people talking about it and using Alaska fish fertilizer. So while at home depot i picked up a bottle, never used it before this week. BUT MAN DOES IT STINK
i dont eat any kinda fish or seafood because i dont like the smell and this is like a old rotten fishermans bucket .. so how well does this stuff work because i wear a dust mask just to water the plants with it
Whats the Stink to growing ratio with this stuff   my Scott's vegetable and tomato mix was 9-4-9 (i think.. ) and had NO odor  and seemed to create new shoots and leaves, i have watered it twice this week with half dose fish fert, then will do stronger strength in a week or so   but What exactly does this stuff do for my plants if it grows nice n strong ill keep with it if not i gotta stop
 
 In terms of NPK... Fish emulsion is only really good for its nitrogen content... However, it  is also packed full fo all sorts of micro nutrients, as well as some hormones... It also really helps to promote colonies of micro-organisms in the soil... The bottom line is... its just an awesome supplement... but will not provide everything you need.  And you will get used to the smell.  it used to smell like diarea to me... but now it just smells like a healthy garden.  And the pungency of the aroma will translate into vegies and fruits absolutely bursting with flavanoids.
 
so i should be using this in rotation with my other fertilizers too ,but i dont think i will ever get used to that smell  but if it means more ,larger  yielding crops i will bear it
 
yes.. definitely continue using your base nutrients... fish emulsion is a supplement.  If it is really so offensive smelling to you... then I would recommend you to just apply it every once in a while... but I would have a hard time advising anyone not to use fish emulsion... personally, its one of my favorite nutrient supplements.
 
i knew it had those other microbes the soil likes too mostly whi i got it cus 5-1-1 is not really great but i know its about more than those 3 numbers

trying to get More pods this year than normal which isnt much per plant
 
just transplanted about half of the ghost plants from seed starter slots to there first pots and watered em in with some good fishy water  hopin for some healthy plants
 
I used the alaska fish ferts for the first time last night and I agree, I was taken back by the smell. I'm sure I will get used to it because I plan on using these regularly, especially for earlyto mid vegetative growth.
 
Because of the 5-1-1, I mix it with Alaska Morebloom which is 0-10-10. I dilute the Morebloom to 1/3 strength for a more balanced overall fert.
