taco bell del taco jala's

ok this has been bugging me for sometimes so here goes... anyone else notice the huge difference in the heat amounts between taco bells jalapenos and del taco's??? taco bells jalapeno's are not even remotely hot what do you all think??

I don't know what del taco's is, but I have noticed that Taco Bell's peppers are definitely weak compared to some others. I think that depending on what brand their supplier has makes a difference. I think some companies process and pickle their peppers different thus resulting in either very mild or hotter jalapenos. I have also noticed this with those salad peppers (I can't remember their name) from restaurant to restaurant.

In my experience, people like to talk about eating really hot stuff more than they really like eating it. As a result, jalapeños have been bred to have little or no heat so people can feel like they're being adventurous by eating a jalapeño with any risk of it being too hot.

Whenever I order taco bell I just use my Cajohn 10 sauce on it now. Tastes alot better that way. If I can drink there fire sauce, yeah it's not very hot. (No I didn't drink it, but I guarantee I could.)

IMO that Taco Bell has been going down hill now for awhile. But, ever since I have been exposed to real Mexican foods, Taco Bell was never the same. Also, and I'm sure AJ would know the name, when I lived in Texas, there was a restaurant like Taco Bell but was also open for breakfast and sold alcohol. Now that fast food chain had some good food, I just wish I could remember the name...

The same with Burger King here. it's sad, but the Jalapeño Whopper is actually less hot than the random "Spicy Whopper". there's a bit hotter version with cayenne sauce, though.
Seriously I don't get it! why eat fast food when it's easier, healthier and a lot tastier to make your own?
My chile burger kicks ass!

Burger King is always good to clean me out :( I think its something to do with their grease. I agree, I rather make my own.

Yeah, I don't eat fast food all of the time, but when you work midnights, sometimes it's convenient to get something on the way to work when things are hectic. I agree though. Making your own food is far better for you and tastier. It's the route I usually go, but I do the fast food a couple meals a week.

P.S- Just so you guys know, my uncle lives in Chula Vista which is very close to the Mexican border in California. The Mexican food there is MUCH better!! To bad I'm only there once every couple years.

I prefer taco johns over taco bell. taco johns food tastes better IMO, plus they have bottles of cholula hot sauce at their tables - I know its not the hottest sauce but still tastes good & has some heat to it far more than taco bells "so called hot sauce".

I don't eat fast food, so I have no clue....sorry.

all I can say is, wow!
you dont eat any fast food, ever ?

somethings wrong with you, we all know fastfood is bad for ya, but sometimes they taste so good, even for being a slimy greasy heartclogging meal  plus the convenience factor.
every once in awhile its hard to resist some WC sliders

but most times for lunch I go to sit down places for lunch, but fast food or gas station food is not out of the norm.

It's been awhile since I've been to any fast food Mexican joints, but don't they use pickled jalapeños?

I have friends all the time who come over and say they like jalapeños, but they've never had a fresh one... So I hand them one and light their fire.

I had some compadres at a restaraunt that really dug dipping fresh japs in the deep fryer for about 20 seconds or so. Great stuff and they kept the heat.
Cheers, TB.

now I gotta admit the WC Jalapeno Sliders are good got a decent amount of heat in them but I think they just use a little spicier pepperjack cheese is all

All the taco bell and other franchise Mex fast food I have eaten in the US was nasty.

Best US Mexican fast food was the Superica Taqueria in Santa Barbara, Ca; better than lots of fast food places in Mexico.

Ok, I put "WC Jalapeno Sliders" in Google because I didn't know what you were talking about, and the first ad that came up was for Mexican toilet sets! So, I think I'll...well, I started to say pass, but maybe that's not the best term to use here; I'll just stick with my own poppers. Or Texas Blue's, if I ever take him up on the invitation to dinner.
