I have been summoned to court Tuesday as a juror for a trial. So I hope it wraps up before I chase birds Friday

Glad to see the MoA looking so fine Randy! It should fork for you in the next week or so. Topped and cropped plants have leafed out nicely too. Mine are putting out blossoms at every branch now, so yours should do at least as well. Here's a pic of your Scorpion/Bhut cross taken on Friday.

Nice pic of you and your Daughter. :)  Hope you had a great holiday.

Looks like you have your pattern dialed in for Gobbler hunting. When I was out driving around doing errands yesterday morning I saw a lone Tom that must have had a beard 6 inches long feeding in a hay field. I didn't get a look at its spurs though. good luck!

Thanks Rick for all your kind words.I missed out on the 13 jurors picked for a weeklong trial that starts today. It is good news for me and bad news for the googlers this Friday.lol

Easter is for family, and I'm glad you were able to share the day ;) Thanks for sharing the pic! I had both kids and their 5 over for Easter. It was fun, I got to hide the baskets, which they couldn't find..LOL

Your plants look mighty fine ;)

Good luck with the turkey hunt. I see you're dialed in! We've been hearing them gobble around here for 4-6 weeks. We even had a huge gobbler with 2 hens come right up to the fence in the back yard 30 yards from the house. I wish we had as many deer around here as we do turkeys. And 30 years ago there were none (here). They're making a really nice come back here.

Gals and Guys.Nobody in my world will understand the gut punch I am feeling now then my friends on THP.Came home from work today and 3/4 of a crop 2 weeks from plantout almost totally ruined.Ryley(Carley my kids dog when bad)jump on a back of a chair and on to the main finishing table.Have not identified complete loses due to the tags in places being shuffled like a deck.I will be reorginizing between turkey hunting and then get you wonderful people with an update.

I just got up to date. I'm sorry to hear about the disaster. Those plants looked so good. Makes me sad. I don't see any wilting. I hope all is well.

My plants are not as big as yours, but if you end up needing plants let me know. I'll send a bunch.
Thanks, Chuck.I have only lost 7 but have replacements, The Governor has "stayed" my dog's execution date that was scheduled as soon as I caught the little bastard.
On personal note my Uncle Tom here in Iowa, who served in Vietnam and was diagnosed with agent orange passed away from his condition last night. He was the uncle that gave all us boys little girls names so he could tease the crap out of us whenever we got together. He also made up for it by taking us fishing.'

Ouch! That's painful to even look at Randy, sorry to hear about your setback. Is the culprit pooch in orbit? No, you wouldn't have done that to your daughter's dog, but I'll bet it crossed your mind. Here's hoping you can salvage all or most of it. We're pullin' for ya guy!

Thanks to all of you for your kindness.Full range of emotions in the last 4 days.Today was a good one when I tagged my turkey. Not the biggest but it was the best.We set camo netting on 3 sides. This bird after dropping his sun up hen came in on a dead run ending up in our setup with us and gobbled.A wild turkey gobbling 2 ft from your ear is a life changing experiance. He backed out and gave me enough time to reposition my turkey mags directly at his head.Game Over.
Uncle's services are Sunday so my joy and a dog who likes pepper plants will have to be delt with next week.

Good job Randy! If I was near you I'd be asking you for the wing and tail feathers to tie flies with. ;) Biots from a Turkey's flight primary feathers are good for tying legs and antennae on nymph patterns and bodies on dry flies. Tailfeathers are good for nymphs also. Slips cut from flight secondary feathers are good for a Sculpin minnow pattern called the "Muddler Minnow"

Hey, Rick!  I used to tie flies when I was a kid in S. Oregon.
Muddler Minnows and Royal Coachman were the go-to ties.
I used to tie a lot of small dry flies, as well - Mayfly types mostly.

I used to love clipping the deer hair heads on the Muddlers.

Hey bud, I am sorry for the loss of your uncle, But that turkey looks nice and fat. Nice job on that. I wll tell you, that little pup would have been in a world of hurt after the little run through the grow. Boy I could not even imgaine how ticked I'd be. Although he is a cute little thing.... but a world of hurt LOL. tell the daughter to leash the beast next time HAHAHA, good luck on the recovery and keep your head up. ups and downs hit us all, but we all chug along.
