Great journal post. I noticed that the milk provided no relief for you as it didn't for me either. The only thing that gave me relief was sucking on ice cubes to numb the affected area.

Wow! That story has me rethinking starting 30 Naga Plants.
That by far is the worst case of Hunan Hand I've heard.

That's very dangerous.
An overexposure like that can lead to permanent capsaicin intolerance.
Be very careful next time eating and touching even milder peppers.
What really did you in are the gloves. The liquid that got inside the gloves basically means your hands were soaking in capsaicin juice all that time, you would have been better with no gloves.

Looks like the chileman got a nasty SNAKE BITE !
 
Wow, I never knew it could be that bad. I've had a lot of burns, but that sounds intense. Thanks for putting a scare in me, now I'll certainly be extra careful handling them.
 
WOW!!! Never knew that pepper juice could do that kind of damage! I usually just play with Habaneros. This is the first time I will be useing Nagas. I will definatly be extra careful with these!!! Thanks for the warnings and glad to hear you recovered from that!! Hopefully no perminent damage has been done!

I keep a tub of a mechanic's hand cleaner by the sink when I'm working with the really hot peppers. I don't work with the numbers of extremely hot peppers that you do, though, but it's something to consider.

Well, shoot, the label's come off, and I don't remember the name. It smells like oranges, and I bought it at Walmart's. Which doesn't do you much good, I realize, but perhaps you can find something comparable.
 
Man, that sounds intense. I'm sure everyone has seen my thread about the confiscated nagas by now, well the guy I ordered them from offered to grind some up and re-send them. Check out the e-mail I got:

"Hi Justin,

Just to let you know that we will ship your powdered Naga tomorrow. I've got to tell you,
it was not plesant! We don't do naga powders (although I will grind powder for myself)
and I've never had a need to grind Nagas. The powder from the grinder was positively toxic!
It had me in a *lot* of pain, I thought I was going to be sick! Now I'm used to all kinds of chillies
and most powders but this one has got to be brain damaging. Needless to say, I'm not going to
be offering powder instead of pods in the future, I'll go for the refund.

I hope you enjoy it, I'd use it with caution - even though the dried naga is a little less hot
than fresh, this powder packs a punch!"

Now he got off a lot lighter than you did, Mark, but still sounds shitty. After hearing stuff like that from 2 different people that deal with plenty of peppers, I am gonna be extra careful for sure.

Respect the naga :shocked:

Kato - Hunan Hand effects more than just the hands! Thank god it was only my hands that exploded in fire.

Im feeling a lot better today, just a bit knackered after only 3 hours sleep and I was thankful to get that. To be honest, the pain was so intense I don't know how I got to sleep.

Seriously, if any of you guys do decided to cut up the Naga Morich pods your growing this year, take care. Unlike Habs were the burn is sharp and fast, the burn from these little bas&*%ds lasts an absolute age an d is almost impossible to shift.

Were almost there on the bottles of extreme, were just finishing off the Private Reserve. I hope to post all of those who expressed an interest in these sauces some news shortly.

Julian (my partner in crime on the chileman site) sent me the exact same picture but labeled it Mark & Nic (my fiance)

Im not normally unlucky, its just this year hasent gone well considering the plagues of mice and hunan hand. Im probably fall through the chile house next and sever and artery.
