pests They (bugs) are back

you want agricultural grade, I was just told the stuff for pool filtering has chemicals in it...
AJ,

This go-round, I'm not going to take any chances and see if something I'm not sure works, works. The last time, it took only a few days before the plants were hurt too badly to recover. Now, if DE works as a preventive measure, something I can sift onto the dirt or whatever, I'm game. But for the present, I simply want to kill them as quickly as possible, though I would not mind them suffering before they give up the ghost.

For fear of reprisal from the organic growers...here is what works for me for the spider mites..

for spider mites....

Kills them DEAD quick!!!

Wordwiz...please be careful about spraying a pesticide made to be sprayed outdoors inside your home. Especially in the winter when the house is closed and not well ventilated. AJ, I'm sorry, I don't mean to give you a hard time, but I don't want anyone to get sick. Yes, yes, yes, I am a big tree hugger, but I respect your right to poison your environment. I just want you to poison it in a safe and approved manner.

I don't know what is in the Rose and Flower spray, but do be sure it is rated safe for vegetables. A lot of rose sprays leave a residue or are even systemic, and most people sure wouldn't want to eat their pesticide along with their peppers.

I totally understand Pam and did not take offense. I try and use as much organic stuff as I can but he said he wanted them dead now and this stuff works well.

You are absolutely correct with the "well ventilated area".

I used the kelthane two years ago when I got an infestation of spider mites and they bottle is still full minus 1Tbsp.

Attention....do not use the Bayer Rose and Flower aphid spray. I just read the label again and it says do not use on edible vegatables. I apologize for not reading further. First post edited to take out the aphid killer.

I'd stick with pyrethrum pesticides for anything edible. I'd also recommend spraying often with water since they are slower to reproduce in damp/humid conditions.

I thought peppers didn't like very humid conditions.

Mike

Humidity shouldn't hurt them except they might be more suseptable to molds and mildews. Once you have fruit you may want things a bit drier.
