my herbs are in containers and I've taken them out of the direct sun and same with my pubes and rocotos. I shaded my middle eastern bell type peppers and they are doing great and setting lots of fruit. I'm just really bummed with the tomatoes both in containers and in the ground. I had high hopes for them. 2 of my cherry's are doing great but the other 20 plants are barely hanging on this summer.chiltepin said:Sorry to hear --- nothing like good crop from your own garden. Our spinach is crispy critter. Funny but the flowering continues to take place on the plants even though the leaves are no good. Happened when we went away for a few days. PVC and some shade cloth works okay. Depends on your setup. Our herbs continue to do okay, like tyme, sage, rosemary, and chives. Granted your heat is a little more than ours. I did rig a sail cloth for a few days this year for the peppers in containers.
