Thoughts on this Hydrofarm 4', 4 bulb T5?

I own a 4 light T5 fixture but its not the same brand and have to say it works just fine for starting seeds and what not i even keep some cactus under these lights and they have been doing great. Replacement bulbs are around $10 each just so ya know it comes with 6400K like mine but you can also get 10000K and 2600K. The warranty seems good. I would not flower plants under these lights for that you would need to get some HID lighting.

thanks for chiming in.  This would to be like you said, starting plants and then keeping them going until Spring.  I two, dual bulb 4' t8's now and they're doing well covering a 4'x2' shelf but I need to fill another.  I even had plants flowering under the t8's with 6500k bulbs
Things I am wondering about is heat, how much costs will be to run it at say 14 hours per day and would it be okay running it, and my two 4' dual bulb t8's from the same outlet?  Fixtures plugged into a surge protector

It should work out for what you wanna use this light for at least IMO. I guess i should also add that this fixture doesn't put out much heat at all and you can touch the bulbs without getting too hot. I have some cactus right at the bulbs (1-2 inches) when i have nothing else under the lights and they seem to love it.

Maybe someone here who has the same brand of fixture will post so you can get a hands on review before you make a purchase.

Heat is always my main concern.  I don't know if it's just me but I am very worried with lights and things with fires, ya know?  I turn my lights off when I leave the house and always check in on them to make sure things are good.  Please tell me it's not me? lol

Hydrofarm is a great name in grow lights, correct?

I'm still kind of new to all this growing with lights and stuff, but have the 2 ft version of that light and love it. It's hooked up in my garage running 16-18 hours a day and haven't had any issues, heat is minimal. I haven't had it on for a full billing cycle on electric yet, but I asked around and people suspected it would minimally increase my bill.

Only issue I have is I should have bought the 4 ft one!

Also, check amazon, i saw this same light you mentioned for $118 the other day, looks like its $125 now.
