seeds tomatos right next to peppers, seed saving

I didnt plan this, but right next to my pepper plants, tomato plants from last year came back up.

The pepper plants and tomato plants now that they have some size on them are all but touching. I was wondering if tomato's and peppers will cross or effect my seeds that i save from the peppers

No, they're too far apart genetically to do that

Peppers will not cross with tomatoes, or affect each other's seed quality in any way, no worries whatsoever.

Edit: Beaten by elcap!!!

no spicy tomatoes...
Although about 1/4 of the non-grower people I talk to tell me about the time their aunt grew tomatoes next to peppers and got spicy tomatoes. It's amazing what our minds can trick us in to thinking.

Tomato will quickly outgrow the pepper and eventually the tomato will crowd out the pepper, and the pepper will not survive.

^^^ good points, the both of you.

Unplanned volunteer plants aren't worth the crowding imho. Either prune the heck out of the tomato plants, or yank out and transplant the ones growing too close to your prized pepper plants.
