Too late to start planting in Florida

Heading into the middle of the summer here in Florida and wondering if I missed my opportunity to begin planting new seeds?

I'm told in Florida we can grow all year - but wasn't sure if July was too late (and too hot) to start a couple new plants from scratch.

Thoughts?

I live in Clearwater. I have some seedlings and cuttings going now with no problems.I think the key to seedling this time of year is shade.

Yup, as stated shade is key this time of year, you can pretty much grow all year round with no issues. I have many plants in different various states of growth, including new sprouts.

I am in the Fort Myers / Cape Coral area. I have some young Thai pepper plants. I give them about 6 hours full sun and the rest of the time shade. There doing fine.

Cayenne is super quick. Jalapeno is right behind that I believe.

My jalapeno is way ahead of everything else this year . My cayenne last  year was even quicker.

Never had lanterns. How are they on heat and flavor?

Oh, and do they look like this?
