A brief history. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been held at the Edinburgh Castle since the 50's and the early years focused on the bagpipe & drum aspect of Scottish military marching bands. While they still pride themselves on tradition, Opening of the Edinburgh MilitaryTattoo 2017, over the years they've expanded the material/performers to include some very diverse acts recently, Indian Navy band and dancers.
I'm sure this isn't everyone's cup of tea but I find the the basic premise, all volunteers from ages 19 to 40 that are students or have full time jobs that spend 9 months practicing after school or job demands then give up their vacations over the summer months to travel around the world, to perform as the Top Secret Drum Corps. Each performance expands on the previous appearance and if interested, you should watch the nuances as each increases the complexity and pizzazz of the previous. Enjoy!
