Put my 7 gal grow bags on order today, as well as another 5 gal of fish hydrolysate.
The Cayenne, Tabasco, red habanero & ghostly jap are going into 5’s, everything else into 7’s

Seriously running out of room in the tent at this point! Everything has flower and buds on it and this weekend is going to be the start of hardening off & spending days out on the porch until they’re ready for full sun.

As of now the soil mix for them is going to be

2- Ocean Forest
2- Coco
2- Happy Frog
1- Perlite
1- Cow Manure Compost
1- Worm Castings

Looking good!

Well it looks like I may need to set up my grow lights inside next week. They’re all moving into their big bags this weekend so the tent isn’t an option anymore. Got the few that aren’t Chinense in their 5 gallon bags today.

Even still, they will be outside every day they can.

They all got about an hour of direct sun today and most are taking it well, but of course a few are being dramatic.

Have a FEW peppers just starting.

The ladies are loving the sun!!! 😂

Had a bit of a cold spell (if you can call it that in mid February?)…. The few scattered days that will be in the high 70’s they’ll get a few hours of afternoon sun.

Getting everything potted up into 7 & 5 gallon bags this week as well.
They’re taking turns getting light in my tent with what will fit, and sitting infront of the dining room window.

Still TONS of flowers and probably 20+ peppers starting. The only one not flowering at the moment is the Hallows Eve, which is still growing from its main stem. And of course the Cayenne and Tabasco that are way young.

Once they’re all up-potted (this weekend) I’ll post a group picture. Have to run by the feed store and get more soil, cow poop compost, worm casting and perlite.

Until then, enjoy this ghost trying to bury its head in the sand after 2 hrs of sun.

Alrighy…

Update for mid February

Everything is potted up into its final container.
Lots of buds, flowers & small starter peppers tucked inside & through most of these.

The only plant left to do anything with at this time is the 2025 grow-off plants.

5 gallon bucket for scale.

Everything is still on track. They’re outside during the days now but still coming back in at night. Going through the hardening off process and I can tell some are going to be stubborn while others seem to be doing great with the sun.

Should be in the 60’s at night here pretty soon and they will make a permanent move to the back yard.

Everything is outside for good (I hope!).

Currently in ~ 6 hrs of sun and everything seems happy, no wilting.

On these winds die down they will get transitioned into full sun next week.

Made the move to fish hydrolysate + CalMag + molasses + great white mycorrhizae for feedings.

Have a few more cages to finish up and they should be set for a few months.

Happy growing.

Been pretty hands off lately.

These girls have had to stay hidden out in a little side corridor of my yard for the last month due to the wind. Most of the cages have come of because the wind + cages was giving them horrendous leaf burn that absolutely decimated most of them.

Still spending most days in the corridor with ~3 hours of direct sun per day, so not much growth going on at the moment. In a few weeks I expect the daily wind to drop down to something manageable for gardening. Right now it’s been from 5-30+ winds most of the day consistently.

Lemon Ghost & Sugar Rush Stripe have been putting out quite a bit of early fruit though, with some Ghost & White Ghost.

Getting 1/3 strength fish hydrolysate 2-3 times a week.

This wind will make them stronger💪

Requesting some help here.

Haven’t been doing anything different other than trying to get them in as much sun as possible.

I believe the irrigation system got them a few times but I wouldn’t imagine it’s causing this.

No flower dropping and lots of fruits setting but this is progressively getting worse.

Please help if you’re able.

I was advised the above photos are likely THRIP damage.

They will be getting a neem oil bath this evening.

Meanwhile, here’s some flowers and pods!

Still waiting on my prize plant, the ghost, to start flowering, but she is by far the biggest.

First year growing and already I can tell you I’ll never top another pepper plant.

They fruited QUICK, but as of now, they are 1/3 the size of everything that has been left alone.

Getting a little break from a week of rain with some sun today.

Going to be doing another heavy neem oil application this evening but so far seeing some slight improvements.

Tried out my first ripe BOC yesterday as well, though I think my impatience in the ripening process didn’t serve it justice.

Either way, lots of peppers on the plants for their sizes. Between the white ghost & red habanero there’s 30+.
