Trident’s SB 2019 “keeping the faith”

Getting harder to source true Scotch Bonnets but the challenge continues. Each season I thank those that have helped me continue the quest to grow every variety and log their history. As with any variety there will always be favourites but I have tried to mix up this years grow and go back to those that sometimes do not get grown and those that are new to me especially the white bonnet

Nice rainbow of colors from your F1 plants, John!

I managed to get some decent pods from your Beth Boyd
and MoA seeds this season. They really struggled through
the cool, cloudy and damp Spring, but once a little summer
weather kicked in, they produced pretty well. there will be
lots of unripe pods, but at least I have some seed stock for
next season.

Good luck winding down the 22019 grow season, my friend.

I have neglected my glog over the past few months .... no excuses besides a poorly father at 99 and storm Doris dropped a neighbors tree across my fence and garden ... all sorted now and I am back in the game

At least it missed my treasured Weber

Hopefully the weather will improve the night temperatures are still too low to leave the plants out over night

Have a good weekend

Whoa! How did I miss that sweet spring green master touch! You guys had those colors before we did, I know there are some people that were importi g the Euro webers, and you guys get cooler accessories too!
I'm glad the tree missed it, although weber CS would have hooked you up if it did get hit

Oh and how did you like the peach bonnet scorpion x? I only got 1 plant in the ground, and it was a monster, got tons of pods, but only 2 pods had the bonnet shape. Gonna save seeds from those pods

John - great rogue's gallery of Scotch bonnet pods!

Glad you were able to get out from under the tree
with little damage. That fence looks like it took on
the tree without even sagging!

I hope your father is well. My dad lived with us from
89-98 y.o. My hat's off to you and your dad! I hope
he makes 100

Andy I grew the plant in a container and like you it gave me lots of pods .....

Like you I have kept the bonnet shaped pods for seed and will definitely grow again next season. Thank you for the seed

Thanks Paul actually I am off to see him tomorrow for a promised Sunday dinner. He is now with my sister in Somerset and fully recuperated from his broken wrist. Yes at 99 he hasn’t got long before his 100th birthday next February

As for the bonnets this season hasn’t been as good as last but I have managed to grow some exceptional pods Matthew Arthur’s Caramel Wartryx being one. The white bonnet will continue to grow out next season so hopefully at some stage it will stabilise

Good to see you managed to get something out of this season.  Mine has been very disappointing with quite a few plants not producing at all (or only just setting now, when it's far too late for them to ripen.)  Some successes though including some with your seeds.

If this season (and the last couple for me) are any example,
I need to adjust my grow routine to the new 'normal'

No problem at all, if I come across any other bonnet seeds you don't have I will send them your way too.

Slide on over to this thread with some pictures of that weber if you get bored
