TRied a chcolate ghost pepper today

I cut open a chocolate ghost pepper I got at the farmers market.
It was filled with oil.
I tried some and it was goooood and very very hot. I started to hiccup and spouse said it should be illegal for someone to make something that hot.
I said then sue GOD he made it.
Tonight I am making pizza and the ghost pepper, cayanne, thai and jalapenos are going on it.
Also I have diabetes and have nerve damage in my legs and arms abot 5 minutes after eating ghost pepper the pain stopped..

here is some pictures

So how much did the judge award you from God?

Great looking pepper, and the nerve pain stopping is because of the endorphin rush. Capsiacin is used as a topical treatment, but really is better just to eat.

Wow, good for you! I don't have nerves of steel like you do. I have a narly looking unidentified pepper plant this year, and I am afraid to try it. Instead I dehydrated the pods. While slicing them, my lips and throat burned and that was enough for me.

Peppers also increase blood flow, if I am not mistaken.

That chocolate ghost pepper looks delicious. Does it really taste at all like chocolate or is that name just from the color?

Chocolate is a color reference/color variant (muddy red to muddy brownish)
Often bitter and heavily floral, best used as a heat source long before flavor
Dried/Powdered they often taste much more civil over fresh.

Capsacin actually, clinically, used as a topical agent, will destroy very small nerve endings-and as a result-can dull pain responses and sensations when used topically.
The relief you felt, however, was....as stated before....an endorphin rush.
